There is a place for you

When you visit First English Lutheran Church, you will find a warm welcome from folks who already consider you part of the family: God's family. During worship, you will experience the presence of the Almighty through Word and Sacrament, along with a community that is seeking to know and experience the Triune God just like you.

Other things you might like to know:

  • Worship bulletins are found on the table at the entrance to worship. They guide us through the service, sharing the responses and prayers of the congregation and pointing us to the page numbers of hymns and other worship pieces.

  • Lutheran worship is participatory, meaning there is a lot of sitting, standing, and yes, singing. Feel free to sing loud and proud, even if you're unfamiliar with the songs, as all of our hymns are found in the red hymnal in the pews. Not all of us are on key, but God loves us anyway!

  • We practice "eucharistic hospitality" which means that all baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not baptized or do not wish to receive, you can come forward and cross your arms over your chest indicating that you would simply like a blessing from the pastor.

  • There is plenty of parking surrounding the church building, and the entrances to worship are on the North and South side of the building, closest to the intersection of Ireland Rd and Ireland Trail.

  • Restrooms are located through the parish hall behind the worship space.  Go through two sets of double doors to find them.

"Our first experience attending First English was great. My family felt very welcomed and
accepted upon walking through the doors. The stained glass windows in the church are
stunning and remind you of the beauty of God’s creation. It was very easy to follow along in the
service and we felt the sermon was very clear and compassionate in the way it connects with
God’s word. The congregation was loving and interested in getting to know us, which made us
feel right at home."
