Mission & Vision
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
First English is often referred to as the church at the top of the hill; just as you emerge into the light as you climb a hill, so we feel we are a beacon of light to the community around us. As our mission statement proclaims: “Sharing Christ's love and serving all with a generous heart”.
Embracing and sharing God's love while being led by the Spirit is the foundation of the congregation of First English. Fed by the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ; we go forth boldly to proclaim the good news of salvation while offering a warm, caring community for all who enter.
We are committed to practicing an “open door” policy, welcoming all people of any background while seeking inter-religious dialog and mutual understanding of our Risen Christ.
Through the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America), we are involved in global ministry serving all God's children around the world. Through our local organizations we support the downtrodden and under-served with our physical and monetary donations to various organizations and communities.
We encourage all who enter to “Come and See” what we are about and experience the very picturesque, welcoming community at the top of the hill.
