Faith Formation

Faith formation is a process of spiritual growth and development that occurs throughout one’s life. It is a lifelong journey of learning and growing in faith. In the Lutheran Church, faith formation is an important part of the church’s mission. It involves teaching people about the Christian faith and helping them to grow in their relationship with God. The goal of faith formation is to equip all people with the resources they need to grow in their relationship with God for the whole of life, live as disciples of Jesus at home, at work, in the community, and in the world, and develop an understanding of the Bible and the Lutheran faith tradition.

At First English we continuously offer adult Bible Study – studying the Bible by people as a personal religious or spiritual practice, Pub Theology – informal gatherings to discuss life, philosophy, faith and deep questions of meaning, worship services, our indoor and outdoor Prayer Center – giving people quiet places to offer prayer, confirmation program for middle schoolers and more to come to involve all members, guests and visitors – including parents and their children, adults – singles and married partners, and teens.

Bible Lessons

Bible studies are offered weekly at our sister congregation, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. The bible study meets on Wednesdays at 10am for about an hour, including folks from both congregations. Join us whenever you can!

About once a month we gather for an in-depth theological discussion at a local brewery, Crooked Ewe

These conversations allow us to explore our faith convictions, while enjoying some fun and fellowship (and maybe a local brew too!)
