Children and Youth
Our mission is to provide a welcoming and loving environment which will help:
-
Understand what it means to be an ELCA Lutheran type of Christian.
-
Make the Christian faith meaningful in our daily lives.
-
Build and participate in the Christian community.
-
Nurture Christian hope for ourselves and all people.
Kids in Worship? Yes please!
Young people are always welcome in worship! We believe that the best way to learn about being a Christian is to be surrounded by other faithful people. And if your little one is a little loud, or a little squirmy, don't worry about it! It takes time to get acquainted with a worship environment. We also provide coloring pages, crayons, and weekly activity sheets that connect with the days lessons to help our youngest participants feel more engaged.

Confirmation
Confirmation is a rite in which young people affirm their faith and are received as full members of the Church. At First English, this process involves two-three years of independent study with the pastor or a small group of other students, followed by a blessing in worship at the end of the program. Typically this study would happen in middle/early high school.
